The sea and surfing safe and accessible for everyone

For 50 years, the HSA has been dedicated to making the sea and surfing safe and accessible for everyone. The organization is driven by a group of passionate surfers who share their love for the sport by telling stories, organizing surf competitions, and connecting surfers worldwide. Whether you surf at a high level or are just diving into the waves for the first time, the HSA is a household name among all Dutch surfers.

With the new website, we aim to make the sport of surfing accessible to everyone. So, in addition to providing a clear overview of surf competitions and the surfing rules, we want to focus on telling personal stories. We asked ‘blue-minded’ outdoor enthusiasts to share what the sea and surfing mean to them. How it feels to share waves with like-minded individuals. What the nature, the swell, does to you. These stories were given an important place on the website and show what makes surfing so special.

With the help of a group of befriended photographers, we were also able to show why surfing is the most beautiful sport in the world. We asked the photographers if we could use the most beautiful images from their archives for the website. The result was overwhelming.
